Job Introduction

The Lead Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the security, operations and engineering for the NNL technical infrastructure. They will be managing the infrastructure team and will undertake and oversee all work undertaken on the environment to ensure it is executed in line with NNL governance and good industry practice.

Main Responsibilities

Operational ownership of the technical infrastructure, lifecycle, upgrades or configuration changes in line with good industry practice and NNL governance processes.

Responsible for Hybrid On Premise and Cloud Network and Server Infrastructure.

Responsible for the management of the Infrastructure and Infrastructure Support Engineers.

Accountable for building and configuring new infrastructure as required or validating the builds of others.

Responsible for troubleshooting and remediating problems with the infrastructure.

Accountable for escalations from the Infrastructure Engineers or SDM.

Responsible for prioritising workloads and resource management for the Infrastructure Team.

Supporting architects and where agreed leading on the production of infrastructure designs.

 

Required to work out of hours (flex) and being on call (recompensed) on an agreed rota.

The Ideal Candidate

 

Experienced Infrastructure Engineering manager and team leader.

 

Experienced in complex business and application environments and interdependencies.

 

Highly experienced in virtualised infrastructure, Hyper-V, VMWare, Azure and Cloud Services such as Azure PaaS, SaaS, InTune and Office 365 Administration.

 

Practical experience in Storage Solutions, Backup and Replication Services (DFS, VEEAM, ASR).

 

Experienced with security controls including (SIEM, Vulnerability Scanning, Server and Client Security, ZScaler and Azure Security Centre).

 

Good working knowledge of PowerShell, Automation, Azure Runbooks and Blueprints.

 

Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements.

 

Self-motivated, proactive and customer focused with excellent organisational skills.
