Job Introduction

The role of the Chief Architect is to oversee the corporate technical environment and develop strategies and solutions to enable NNL to pursue its digital technology and transformation agenda. The Chief Architect is responsible for defining EA standards and processes leading their integration with other related business processes and overseeing the application of all technical governance in adherence with agreed standards, regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities

Accountable for the NNL IT Infrastructure and it’s operational management and security.

Autonomy of Technology and Infrastructure budget and accountable for successful OLA’s.

Authority of the NNL Enterprise Architecture, Standards and Governing Principles

Responsible for the Architecture, Infrastructure, Operations and Applications teams.

Ownership of the technology strategies to further NNL’s digital transformation.

Accountable TDA and decision maker for key governance boards, ARB, CAB, IT Security.

Responsible for the analysis of industry, technology, and market trends to determine their potential impacts on the NNL.

Trusted advisor to the CISO / SIRO for Information Technology and Systems risk management.

Responsible the NNL ITOM to ensure its appropriate to support the wider business objectives.

The Ideal Candidate

Possess an extensive breadth and depth of knowledge and knowhow across all aspects of IT and architectural domains including Business, Technology, Application, Data and Security.

An experienced IT SMT member at equivalent medium to large enterprises and familiar with the challenges of IT Management, Operations and Strategic Planning.

Develop business aligned technology strategies, investment cases and solutions that have disrupted traditional thinking and ways of working.

A proven track record in the design and development of enterprise grade solutions for traditional on premise and modern cloud or hybrid environments in secure industries.

A demonstrable background in accredited environments and balancing business benefit and technology risk working close with ISM’s and CISO’s to develop appropriate risk balance cases and documentation.

Led the creation and ongoing evolution of technology practices, developed target operating models, adopting appropriate standards, and governance.

Good understanding and certification (or working towards) industry standards, Enterprise and Solutions Architecture, TOGAF, ITIL, APM and Cloud Architecture Technical Certifications.

Demonstrable experience in at least two IT disciplines (such as technical architecture, solution architecture, application development or middleware design).
