Job Introduction

The role of the Infrastructure Engineer is to build, administrate, manage and troubleshoot the NNL network and server infrastructure, including Microsoft Azure and Office 365. They will also maintain the security of the technical components and remediate any problems where needed both in and out of standard business hours.

Main Responsibilities

1. Managing On Premise and Cloud Network and Server Infrastructure. 

2. Responsible for building and configuring new infrastructure as required. 

3. Troubleshooting and remediating problems with the infrastructure. 

4. Responsible for preparing submissions to CAB an executing standard and emergency change requests.

5. Managing operations and performance of the technical and security infrastructure. 

6. Identifying opportunities to improve the performance of the NNL infrastructure. 

7. Supporting architects and where agreed leading on the production of infrastructure designs. 

8. Handling support and escalations from the Infrastructure Support Engineers. 

9. Required to work out of hours (flex) and being on call (recompensed) on an agreed rota.

The Ideal Candidate

1. Experienced in Cloud, Virtualisation and Migration (Hyper-V, VMWare and Azure IaaS).

2. Experienced in Azure PaaS and SaaS services including InTune and the O365 Stack.

3. Highly knowledgeable in LAN, WAN, VPN, DMVPN, MPLS and SDWAN infrastructure.

4. Practical experience of Storage Solutions, Backup and Replication Services (DFS, VEEAM, ASR).

5. Familiar with security controls including (SIEM, Vulnerability Scanning, Server and Client Security, ZScaler and Azure Security Centre).

6. Experienced of PKI Infrastructure, HSM’s, DSM’s and Azure BYOK.

7. Good working knowledge of PowerShell, Automation, Azure Runbooks and Blueprints. 

8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
