Job Introduction

The NDA portfolio within NNL has some of the most exciting projects and programmes in the UK nuclear industry. The portfolio is involved with progressing the state of the art within science and engineering projects. The projects we deliver are diverse and require a wide range of experience. This vacancy will form part of a broader recruitment drive due to year on year growth within NNL.

Main Responsibilities

The main responsibilities for the Assistant Project Manager:

  • Ensure NNL deliver projects and programmes to time, cost and quality.
  • Ensure NNL effectively polices the supply chain delivery and secures third party support where required.
  • Ensures that all Project plant intrusive activities are requested and engaged through the building IDM process.
  • Ensures that all Project stages are effectively completed and the Project handed over in a controlled manner, covering plant status, and responsibilities for rooms / systems as a minimum.
  • Ensures that an accurate report on Project health is presented on a monthly basis.
  • Ensures that all internal and external stakeholders are fully engaged on Project progress and timings at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential skills for the Assistant Project Manager:

Minimum requirements

  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • APM accreditation
  • SC Cleared or ability to become so.

Desirable skills for the Assistant Project Manager:

  • Contract Management (NEC) experience
  • MSP / P6 Planning
  • Engineering background, or relevant Engineering qualification
  • Degree qualified
