Job Introduction

NNL is not like any other business, and our apprenticeships are like no other. Our apprentices are our future, which is why we have a dedicated apprenticeship programme which supports our apprentices in their personal development whilst they are completing their apprenticeship.

To welcome you into the business, all our NNL apprentices join a 3-day induction programme. This will give you an understanding of the business, the programme you will follow and what we’ll expect from you during your apprenticeship. Following your induction, you’ll be supported through your apprenticeship journey focusing on personal development. This covers a range of skills from time management to team working. We’ll learn about you together.

We even have a dedicated apprentice Advisor who is there to ensure that you are settling into your apprenticeship at NNL, both in the workplace and at College.

Main Responsibilities

We are looking for Business Administration apprentices who have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied with the nuclear sector. The role will involve working independently as well as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services. The role will also involve developing your key skills and behaviours to support and enhance your own progression towards management responsibilities.

The responsibilities of the role are to support and engage with different parts of the organisation and interact with our internal and external customers. With a focus on adding value, the role of a business administrator contributes to the efficiency of the service that NNL provides, through support of functional areas, working across our teams and resolving issues as and when requested.

The Ideal Candidate

The Business Administration apprentices are expected to deliver their responsibilities efficiently and with integrity – showing a positive attitude. The role involves demonstrating strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and adopting a proactive approach to developing and enhancing their own skill set. Candidates should have the ability to show initiative, managing priorities and own time, problem-solving skills and decision-making.

You’ll already have a good academic background when you apply for an apprenticeship with us. You should have attained or be on track to achieving 5 GCSE's A-C (New Grading 9-4) including Maths & English.

You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject.

NNL RECOGNISES THE UNCERTAINY THAT HAS ARISEN REGARDING THE GOVERNMENT’S DECISION TO CANCEL EXAMS IN 2021 AND TO PUT IN PLACE ALTERNATIVE ASSESSMENTS. THIS WILL BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION THROUGHOUT OUR APPRENTICE RECRUITMENT AND ASSESSMENT PROCESS.

We’re looking for people who can be part of our future. People who want to succeed and have the commitment and motivation to get there. People who ask questions and demand answers, who’ll be open to learning and work hard.

We’re looking for bright, enthusiastic achievers who’ll want to be part of our mission to grow the nuclear industry.
