Job Introduction

The National Nuclear Laboratory continue to lead the way in maximising the use of cloud technology in the nuclear industry. The O365 Developer / Administrator will work within the applications team to understand the needs of the business and to grow and support the Office 365 platform - including solutioning, architecture, developing and governance.

Working within an Azure / Cloud environment this will include tenant security and governance (SIEM, Cloud application security and Azure monitoring) along with Identity and Access Management, Azure AD and policy backup.

Main Responsibilities

The O365 Developer / Administrator will be required to:

  • Work with customers to understand their business and technical requirements to design O365 solutions to improve our customers experience;
  • Responsible for ensuring technical solutions align to NNL and T&DC strategy;
  • Balance business need within the technical and security landscape;
  • Become an O365 Subject Matter Expert within the business and to the end customers, responsible for delivering enterprise sized O365 solutions;
  • Lead and support projects and ensuring conformance to agreed design standards, methods and tools, including prototyping new tools and applications where appropriate;
  • Shape O365 technical proposals and risk balance cases whilst making solution/service decisions where appropriate and providing support to ensure solution and cost alignment;
  • Own technical challenges for O365 projects and the technical escalation point for the T&DC team;
  • Act as a trusted advisor for our customers, producing and translating centralised O365 roadmap into customer-specific impact avoidance and benefit realization;
  • Make use of the existing O365 Platform to transform the way NNL currently uses its applications; and
  • Understand and document business requirements over the short, medium and longer-term.

The Ideal Candidate

The O365 Developer / Administrator will be required to:

  • Be eligibility for security clearance to SC and be a UK national;
  • A good working knowledge of the entire O365 stack (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Forms, PowerApps, Flow), including their interactions and use cases;
  • Strong understanding of Multi-Cloud Services (Azure), and Security and Compliance;
  • Be familiar with current and future digital trends and be able to demonstrate successful application to solve real world business problems;
  • Demonstrable track record of working in a similar role;
  • Be self-motivated, proactive and customer focused with excellent organisational skills;
  • Articulate and have good presentation skills;
  • Produce quality documentation and visual design skills (such as high-level designs).
